record about distances
between us and the drones, between us and the flat landscape images
record about our digital wanderings, the gap between the sky and the ground, digital mountains, coded deserts, deep seas, and our place in it
record about the footage, our fears, and romanticized flies of drones that we can almost reach as if we can be lost in the skies - together
_story
As a kid, there comes great amazement combined with deep fear every time our gaze meets a flying object in the sky above. This feeling has always drawn me to leafing through the pages of old books about UFOs, fighters, and bombers. There was something weirdly romantic about these metal objects drifting through the skies. After some years are these haunting images replaced by concrete shots from war zones and battlefields. Following countless forum threads analyzing human and drone footage I stumble on that familiar feeling again. It comes as an affect deprived of anything romantic, yet full of awe and compressed fear. These digital wanderings and imaginings are contained in the sound of 'lost lost lost’. Its musical landscape is where the horror meets with haunting past and digital distances. Its hard kicks, lonely feedbacks, sampled accordions, and modulations are lost in a space between. Same as us and timeless drone footage coming towards digital banks where its sky wanderings are destined to be lost forever.
